Yasashii Tamagotchi
The Yasashii Tamagotchi is a special Tamagotchi released by Bandai on September 1998. Its name means “Easy Tamagotchi” or “Simple Tamagotchi” in Japanese. Not many people have this Tamagotchi because it came out just after the first batch of Tamagotchis. This makes it harder to find than other Tamagotchi releases.
Design
The Yasashii Tamagotchi is about 4 inches tall. This makes it one of the biggest Tamagotchi ever made. It’s about the same size as the Home Deka Tamagotchi.
On the right side of the Yasashii, there’s a switch to control how loud it is. On the back, there’s a stand you can pull out to make the Yasashii stand up by itself.
The Yasashii has 6 big buttons that light up. You use these buttons to take care of your pet. Near the bottom, there are 2 smaller buttons for picking things or saying no. There’s also a reset button on the front, a little below and to the left of the button you use to feed your pet.

Story
The Yasashii Tamagotchi comes with a little book that explains its story. It says that the Tamagotchi Planet got drunk, which made all the Tamagotchi creatures run away to Earth. This happened almost 2 years ago, and now it’s time for them to start going back home.
A man named Professor Banzo made the first Tamagotchi toy for these creatures to live in. He wanted to keep trying to make better homes for them. So he and his friend Mikachu made the Yasashii. It’s bigger and more comfortable for the Tamagotchi, and it’s easier for people to take care of them in it.
The Tamagotchi that live in the Yasashii are called “YasaTamagotchi.” These are Tamagotchi that were born on Earth, so they’ve never seen their home planet. They only know about it from stories that older Tamagotchi tell. Now, these YasaTamagotchi are really excited because they’re going to see their home planet for the first time.
Gameplay
The Yasashii Tamagotchi works like other Tamagotchis, but it’s a bit different. Instead of picking options from a menu, you just press buttons for what you want to do. There are 6 big buttons: “Meal”, “Happy”, “Care”, “Toilet”, “Lights”, and “Check Meter”. There are also 2 smaller buttons at the bottom for picking or canceling things.
When you press 1 of the 6 main buttons, it lights up. You can’t press any other buttons until that action is done. If your Tamagotchi needs something, the button for that action will flash.
The Yasashii is special because your pet gets hungry really fast after waking up in the morning. Also, teaching your pet good behavior is more important for how it grows than just taking care of it.
Here’s what the buttons do:
- “Meal”: Feeds your pet
- “Happy”: Gives a snack or plays a game
- “Care”: Gives medicine or teaches good behavior
- “Toilet”: Cleans up poop
- “Lights”: Turns lights on and off for sleep
- “Check Meter”: Shows your pet’s age, weight, hunger, happiness, and behavior

Your Tamagotchi can do fun things like sing, exercise, beg for food, or take a bath. You can make some of these happen by doing certain things.
When it’s time for your Tamagotchi to leave, it flies away in a UFO instead of dying. After you start a new pet, you can look at pictures of your old pets by going to the clock screen and pressing the “Select” button.
