Tamagotchi Pix
The Tamagotchi Pix is a new Tamagotchi release that came out in 2021. It’s made by Bandai. It’s special because it’s the first Tamagotchi with a color screen. It’s also the first one that was sold outside North America before being sold in Japan. The Tamagotchi Pix has a camera and buttons you can touch. These new features change how you play with Tamagotchis.
Design
The Tamagotchi Pix is about the same size and shape as the Tamagotchi On. The top part of the Pix looks like a cracked egg, kind of like the removable top on Osutchi and Mesutchi. The Pix has a camera that can see colors, which is used in many of the mini games.
Instead of regular buttons, the Pix has 3 touch buttons. These work like normal buttons, but you can also swipe on them. The front of the toy has printed designs with round dots over the touch buttons.
The top half is one solid color and has “Tamagotchi” written on it. You can push this part down to take a picture. The camera lens is on the back. There’s a loop on the left side where you can attach a string to carry it.
There are 2 types of Tamagotchi Pix:
- The regular Tamagotchi Pix came out first in 2021.
- The Tamagotchi Pix Party came out on June 30, 2022. This version has new characters to raise, Milktchi and Wawatchi. It also has new characters to meet when you explore, a party mode with 3 party games and new items to use.

Growing Up and Departure
After 4 days as an adult, your Tamagotchi can go back to its planet. You make a photo album of its life. It might get a job based on the games it played. Then it sends you a new egg to raise, and you start over.
Glitches
The Tamagotchi Pix has small glitches:
1. Babysitting Problem: If you call a babysitter to watch your Tamagotchi and it’s supposed to grow up during this time, the device might keep turning itself on over and over. To fix this, you need to send the babysitter away and let your Tamagotchi grow up. After it grows up, you can call the babysitter back if you want.
2. Shutting Off Problem: When the batteries are almost dead, if you try to take a picture by pressing the button on top, the device might act like it’s resetting. It will turn off and then turn back on by itself. Don’t worry , you won’t lose any of your progress. When it turns back on, you’ll see the screen asking if you want to continue your game or start over just like when you push the reset button.
These problems don’t happen all the time, but it’s good to know about them in case you see them happen with your Tamagotchi Pix.
