Tamagotchi Gen 2 Growth Chart
Egg Stage: This doesn’t last long. Your Tamagotchi egg will hatch after about 5 minutes.
Baby Stage: Once hatched, your Tamagotchi stays a baby for about 1 hour. You’ll get either Babytchi or Chibitchi.
Child Stage: After that hour as a baby, your Tamagotchi grows into a child. It stays in this stage for about 24 hours (1 day). You might get Marutchi, Tamatchi, Kinakomotchi, or Ginjirotchi.
Teen Stage: Once your Tamagotchi has been a child for a day, it becomes a teen. The teen stage lasts for about 24 to 36 hours (1 to 1.5 days). Your teen could be Tongaritchi, Hashizoutchi, Mametchi, Young Memetchi, Hinotamatchi, or Kuchitamatchi.
Adult Stage: Finally, after being a teen for a day or so, your Tamagotchi becomes an adult. This is the longest stage. If you take good care of your Tamagotchi, it can stay an adult for several days or even weeks. The possible adults are Mametchi, Kuchipatchi, Mimitchi, Maskutchi, Kuchitamatchi, Oyajitchi, Otokitchi, or Ojitchi.
The whole process from egg to adult takes about 3 to 4 days. But remember, these times aren’t exact. They can vary a little bit from Tamagotchi to Tamagotchi.
Also, it’s important to know that Tamagotchi have a daily schedule:
- They wake up at 7:00 AM
- They go to sleep at 8:00 PM
During their awake hours, you need to feed them, play with them, and clean up after them. If you don’t take care of them properly, they might get sick or even die. But if you do a good job, your Tamagotchi can live for quite a while in its adult form.
That’s how the Tamagotchi Gen 2 grows over time.

How long does it take for a gen 2 Tamagotchi to grow?
A gen 2 Tamagotchi grows between 24 to 72 hours. So your Tamagotchi might evolve today or the day after tomorrow. But time isn’t the only thing that matters. To get certain special characters, you might need to do a few extra things:
- Skill Points: These are like grades for your Tamagotchi. The better you take care of it, the higher its skill points.
- Bonding: This is about how close you are to your Tamagotchi. The more you play with it and make it happy, the stronger your bond.
Now here’s a cool thing: Sometimes, you can make your Tamagotchi change when you want it to instead of waiting. But to do this, you need to meet certain conditions. These conditions might be things like having enough skill points or a strong enough bond.
So while your Tamagotchi will change on its own after 1 to 3 days, you can sometimes speed things up or get a specific character if you take really good care of it and meet the right conditions.
Can Tamagotchi Gen 2 have babies?
Tamagotchi Gen 2 can’t have babies. It’s more about taking care of one pet from start to finish. You get an egg, and it hatches into a baby Tamagotchi. Your job is to feed it, play with it, and keep it clean as it grows up. It goes from a baby to a kid, then a teenager, and finally an adult.
But that’s where it stops. No getting married or having its own babies. The fun part is seeing what kind of grown-up Tamagotchi you end up with based on how you treated it.
When your adult Tamagotchi dies, you start over with a new egg. It’s like raising a pet over and over, trying to do a good job each time.
The stuff about Tamagotchis getting married or having families came in later versions, not in Gen 2.
Can Tamagotchi Gen 2 get married?
No, a Tamagotchi Gen 2 cannot get married. Tamagotchi Generation 2 devices do not have a marriage feature. In Gen 2, Tamagotchis don’t get married or have babies.
The main features of Gen 2 Tamagotchis are:
- Raising your Tamagotchi from an egg through baby, child, teen, and adult stages
- Taking care of its needs (feeding, cleaning, playing)
- Trying to raise it into different character types based on how well you care for it
The marriage and breeding features were introduced in later versions of Tamagotchi, but they’re not part of the Gen 2 experience.
