Tamagotchi Gen 1 Growth Chart
You start with a little egg on the screen. It just sits there for about 5 minutes, then it starts hatching.
Out pops a baby Tamagotchi. There’s only one type of baby, and it stays tiny for about an hour.
After that hour, your little guy grows up some. Now depending on how you’ve been treating it, you’ll get one of 2 kids:
- If you’ve been taking good care of it, you get a Marutchi.
- If you’ve been slacking off, you get a Kutchitamatchi. These kids hang around for a whole day – that’s 24 hours.
Then your kid turns into a teenager. This happens after that full day. You can end up with 1 of 3 types of teens:
- Tamatchi: You get this if you treated Marutchi well.
- Kuchitamatchi: This shows up if you didn’t treat Marutchi great, or if you started with Kutchitamatchi.
- Ginjirotchi: This one’s pretty special and rare. It can sometimes come from Marutchi. The teen stage also lasts a full day.
Finally, after another day (so we’re talking 3 days total since that egg showed up), your teen becomes an adult. There are 6 different adults you might get:
- Mametchi: This is the top dog. You get it if you did a really good job.
- Kuchipatchi: This one’s for if you did okay – not great, not terrible.
- Mimitchi: This one’s rare, but you can get it if you did pretty good.
- Maskutchi: If you didn’t do so hot, you might end up with this one.
- Kurokotchi: This is what happens if you really dropped the ball on taking care of your Tamagotchi.
- Nyorotchi: This one’s super rare and kinda secret.
What weight should my Tamagotchi be in gen 1?
Your Tamagotchi shouldn’t get heavier than 80 ounces. That’s important because if it hits 89 ounces, it’s getting close to turning into Debutchi. You probably don’t want that!
Just remember, keep it under 80 ounces and you’ll be doing great.
How long does it take for a gen 1 Tamagotchi to grow up?
A Gen 1 Tamagotchi grows up after 65 minutes.
But things got a bit different with some of the newer versions, like Mesutchi and Osutchi, where the baby stage could last for more than 24 hours.
So depending on which Tamagotchi you had, you might have had to wait just about an hour to see your baby grow up, or you might have been waiting a full day or more.
Can a Tamagotchi Gen 1 have babies?
Tamagotchi Generation 1 devices don’t have the ability to have babies. You just take care of one Tamagotchi at a time. It starts as an egg, then becomes a baby, grows into a kid, then a teenager, and finally an adult. Your job is to feed it, play with it, and clean up its poop. The goal is to keep your pet happy and alive as long as you can.
When it’s an adult, that’s it . No getting married or having baby Tamagotchis. If your Tamagotchi dies, you get a new egg and start over. The idea of Tamagotchis having their own babies didn’t happen until they made newer versions of the toy later on.
